For January's Collections Spotlight, we take a closer look at a set of three journals donated to the Monteith House in 1990. These journals were all donated at the same time from the same source. It is unknown who the journals originally belonged to, but the largest one does have a name written on the inside cover. The two smaller journals are filled with ledger style paper, perfect for keeping in one's pocket to balance their bank account. The larger notebook is filled with lined paper, and is intended for personal journaling. It seems to have never been used, though the name "J.M. Pipe" and "Albany" are scrawled on the inside cover.
