Event DetailsScare up some chills and thrills at the Monteith House Museum's Trolley of Terror this October!
**VIP Paranormal Experience:**
Do you have nerves of steel and a thirst for the supernatural? If you're ready to take your ghostly adventure to the next level, the **VIP Paranormal Experience** is calling your name!
This exclusive experience is designed for those brave souls who aren’t content with just hearing ghost stories—they want to live them. In a small, intimate group, you'll step inside the notoriously haunted **Monteith House**, a place where the line between the living and the dead has always been blurred.
Over the course of 2 hours and 30 minutes, you’ll dive headfirst into a real paranormal investigation. Armed with an array of professional ghost-hunting equipment—EMF detectors, spirit boxes, infrared cameras, and more—you’ll have the chance to communicate with the spirits that still call Monteith House home. As you explore the dimly lit rooms, every shadow could be something more, every cold draft a brush with the unknown.
Your guides, seasoned in the art of paranormal investigation, will be by your side, offering tips and insights as you work together to uncover the secrets of this haunted house. Who knows what you might discover—a whisper in the dark, a fleeting apparition, or perhaps even an eerie message from beyond the grave?
This experience is not for the faint of heart and does not include a trolley ride. It's an evening of hands-on, spine-chilling excitement that you'll never forget—if you dare to face what lies in the shadows!
Restrictions:
Dress comfortably. It is recommend to wear warm clothes, because the heating system will be turned off during the investigation. Visitors are welcome to bring their own paranormal investigation equipment, but it's use will be at the discretion of the guide.
Be sure to check out our other Halloween experiences:
Ghost Walking Tour: (October 11 and 12) A guide will lead you through the nighttime streets of downtown Albany, Oregon and share ghost stories from several locations. Upon returning to the Monteith House, you will be invited inside the house to hear some of the more chilling ghostly tails that have been experienced within its walls. (approximately 1 hour)
Trolley of Terror: (October 18, 19, 25, and 26) Board the trolley to ride in style as a guide recounts terrifying tales of unexplainable encounters in the downtown Albany area of more than 20 locations. After the trolley tour, you will be invited inside the Monteith House to hear some of the more chilling ghostly tails that have been experienced within its walls. (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes)
VIP Experience: (October 19 and 26) Perhaps you are of stouter heart than others and crave the opportunity to experience your own paranormal encounter. Our VIP Experience is for you! A small group of visitors will take part in a paranormal investigation in the Monteith House and gain experience using a variety of ghost hunting equipment. This experience does not include a ride on the trolley. (approximately 2 hours 30 minutes)
This event is a fundraiser to help support Monteith Historical Society's mission to continue to preserve Albany's first frame house and its collection of pioneer artifacts, as well as provide educational opportunities for the public.
